During the extensive meeting of businessmen in Khafji, AlKhalidi said that Khafji is strategically located, and investors have a responsibility to take advantage of the available opportunities.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi stressed the importance of Khafji Governorate in the map of economic activity in the Eastern Region, as it characterized by the preservation of the specifications that make them promising in the fields of trade and industry.
The most important of these specifications is the strategic location of the border with Kuwait and Iraq and its location on the coast of the Arabian Gulf.
AlKhalidi said during an extensive meeting of businessmen and businesswomen in the province of Khafji on Tuesday (18/12/2018) that the investment prospects in the province are promising, however, we have some obstacles.
He added, "We- Asharqia Chamber-are working in cooperation with all governmental and private bodies to overcome them, as we find that the image of the future is bright, and prospects are multiple, especially as the location of maintaining the Gulf coast, and its border with Kuwait and Iraq, which is making it a province with special characteristics, especially in the field of trade, export in particular."
It may also qualify it as a logistics channel between the Kingdom and the two neighboring countries.
Al-Khalidi called on businessmen in the Eastern Province and identify the people of the province of Khafji to strive to monitor the opportunities for investment and to find new investment opportunities in the province that would make a quantum leap in the economic and social life in the province that is achieving value added to the national economy through providing job opportunities for Saudi youth, and supporting local markets with goods and services of national origin.
alKhalidi pointed out that the Chamber and after the opening of its new headquarters in the province of Khafji has taken positive steps in the field of its work to develop the activity of the private sector.
A branch of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment was opened at the Chamber's headquarter in Khafji. This was a demand of businessmen, however, the Ministry officials responded to us and the branch was opened soon.
There has been communication with the General Organization for Social Insurance to provide an office for them in the branch as well in order to meet the urgent need in the province.
The Chamber in this way is actively seeking more events to support the movement of the national economy in the province.
The meeting was attended by the member of the Board of Directors, Saadoun Al-Khalidi, the Secretary General of the Chamber, Abdulrahman Al-Wabel, and Vice-Chairman of Buisness Council of Asharqia Chamber in Khafji Branch, Mohammed Fawaz al-Sibai.
Many issues have been discussed in the meeting such as the non-renewal of industrial licenses from the municipality and the lack of distribution of investment lands.
The Chairman of the Chamber commented that the Secretary of the Eastern Region, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubeir, has shown great interest in developing radical solutions to these issues, so this obstacle we hope to be on the way to the demise.
Turning to the issue of the airport and the necessity and quality in the province, the Chairman stated that with the cooperation of all parties to find alternative solutions and the possibility of providing an airport close to Khafji.
